Oggi al Mare!

Today the sun was shining and there wasn’t a hint of rain in the sky. There was only one thing to do—hit the beach! I text messaged my sister-in-law to get ready because today we were finally going to get some sun. Unfortunately, living in a port city means that there are no actual beaches to lay out on. But no worries, this is the Riviera and there are plenty of beaches to be had.

An eight minute train ride took us right to the action—the 5 Terre. We stepped off at Riomaggiore, the last of the 5 Terre villages. Ah, the meditterrenean…what splendor. There is something so calming about seeing it’s sparkling blue waters.

A quick trek through a part of town and a series of tunnels and sottopassaggi brought us out to one of the famous views of the Cinque Terre.

Around the corner and down the steps and we were able to pick a nice spot on the rocky beach. I hope you have been able to get some sun too.
